Bird is a reliable electric scooter rental service with stations set up throughout Downtown and Midtown Memphis. Use the Bird app to find the closest scooter, scan the scooter’s QR code with your app then hit the road. The approximate cost is $1 to rent and $.15 for every additional minute.
Uber and Lyft are popular ridesharing/ride hailing companies widely used in Memphis to conveniently and easily shuttle you around town. You must have an account and the mobile app to use both services. Prices vary.
Zipcar is the world’s largest car sharing service, providing access to vehicles for rent on a short-term basis—by the hour or by the day. Gas, insurance and mileage is typically included with every reservation. Most stations in Memphis are downtown or are associated with local college campuses, but service is expanding.
Memphis’s improving bicycle infrastructure makes biking a great way to arrive to work. Check with campus security for information on bicycle parking locations and shower facilities.
