Student Life Blogs

Adios 2012, Hello 2013!

Greetings blogosphere:

What a year it’s been! After the whirlwind of finals week, the semester ended on a high note…I think I’ve finally figured out how to juggle this whole optometry school thing. Of course, I say that now with the toughest semester and pre-clinic checkouts looming in the midst. Nonetheless, it’s been a good year and I couldn’t feel more blessed. I officially became a runner and competed in my first half marathon back in November. In fact, I look forward to running my first cross country race this January. For 2013, I’ll continue to serve as the Class of 2015 president and take on the full reigns as SCO’s AOSA Trustee in March. In the middle of January, I’ll be heading to St. Louis where the American Optometric Association Headquarters are located. There, I’ll be joined by a student representative from each of the other optometry schools to attend an AOSA Board of Trustees Meeting.

I know this will be my busiest semester yet, but I had a wonderful time with my family over the Christmas break, and can’t believe that in a few short months I’ll be examining my first patients in the clinic!! Now for school on Monday…

Cheers to 2013– may it be a prosperous and happy year for you all!

Carpe Diem,

Amy
