SCO hosted "Discover Optometry" this past weekend. Discover Optometry is an opportunity for prospective students to visit campus and learn more about the profession. We had around 150 people show up and it seemed to be a huge success. Today is a big event at SCO for prospective students called Discover Optometry, which is held every 2 years.  Around 160 prospective students will be attending this year.  The day consists of a tour of SCO, a student and OD panel, financial aid/admissions info, slit lamp demonstrations, and of course BBQ for dinner!  Now that boards are over, I finally have time to do things I've been putting off for a while.  As summer externships are only 6 weeks away, I've been looking into housing... I've been feeling free since my last test on Wednesday.  Even though I still have to prepare for an exam on Tuesday, I'm still feeling free.  I think the nice weather we've been seeing is aiding in the free spirit I'm experiencing.  The last few days here in Memphis have been pretty nice, and today is nice as well.  I'm planning to enjoy this beautiful afternoon.  I'm heading to get a manicure and pedicure, then off to the park to do my daily walk/run.  I'm embarking on a new journey to eat... This past weekend I went to St. Louis with a group of friends.  I toured the amazing Botanical Center and  Anheuser Busch Company.  We had some good food and listened to great music on Laclede's Landing.  Of course on the way home we stopped at Lambert's Restaurant on Interstate 55.  It is famous for it's home style food and  fresh dinner rolls which the waiters throw to you across the room. Today marks exactly one week since we took national boards and I am loving all of this free time. Boards were difficult, but I don't think I could have done anything else to prepare. I studied everything I could and dedicated a lot of time, so hopefully it will all pay off. Well, enough about boards!
