Hello from the mountains! We arrived safe and sound in Colorado for our family vacation yesterday after a four hour delay in the St. Louis airport. While others were passing the time with magazines and newspapers, I was reading about lipids and vitamins for our biochem quiz next week. My time at home has already gone by so fast.  Breaks never fail to fly by...but I'm very thankful to have the rest of the week off still.  I've already had one family Thanksgiving meal on Sunday, and another to come on Thursday.  I love all the home cooking! I also took the opportunity while at home to visit a local optometrist I shadowed in high school. This optometrist started his own practice from scratch. I spent Wednesday through Friday of last week trying to catch up from being sick. At one point, everybody in the family had the the flu, including the baby. Not so fun. I've never been happier to return to school. I came back to an Ophthalmic Optics test on Wednesday, followed by a practical in Theory and Methods Lab the next morning. It's finally here!! I'm ready for a week of no classes and some relaxation! Realistically, I still have to study over the break, but I don't have to attend class and labs all day.  It was hard concentrating this week since the break was so near, but I made it through. I'm actually looking forward to this break to catch up on studying and prepare for my finals. Just one more day until we get a full week off for Thanksgiving break! I had today off and I have every other Friday off, but I have to be in technology tomorrow, so my break won't start until then. Technology is interesting, though, because you get the opportunity to learn how to use different machines such as visual fields, OCT, HRT and fundus photos.
