Getting Into the Groove of Things!

Hi all! This past week has been the best week I’ve had since starting my first round of tests.  I think I’m finally getting into the groove of things and making the final adjustment from undergrad to professional school! I’ve gotten into the practice of studying everyday, and my grades this week have been good for me!! Hi! My name is Mark Nevers and I am a 2nd-year SCO student. I am from Oak Park, CA. I graduated from BYU (Provo, Utah) in 2008. I am married and have 2 little girls (ages 2 1/2 and 4 months). State Conferences

I recently went to the Illinois Optometric Association Conference in Chicago.  This was the first optometry convention that I have attended and it was a GREAT experience.  There were 8 fellow third-year students that made the 9-hour drive to the conference.  We went to CE courses, explored the exhibit hall full of vendors, and attended two banquet dinners.  It is a great place to network and ask different doctors their perspectives on different issues.   I feel like third year is a great ti... 3rd year life!

This semester has been our best schedule yet!  We had our last labs over the summer, so other than one to two classes in the morning, the rest of our time is in clinic.  We have one day a week in primary care doing full eye exams.  Another day of the week we rotate every 3 weeks between central testing, contact lens, vision therapy, and nursing home.  Our other clinic assignment is every other week for one day, rotating between technology and optical.  Basically, we have 2.5 clinic days a w...
