Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude from SCO in 2002, Dr. Wroten completed a residency in Hospital-Based Primary Eyecare at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and worked as an independent optometric physician in the greater Memphis area.

In 2003, he joined the staff at West Tennessee Eye, where he performed intravenous fluorescein angiography, chalazion incision and curettage, intra- and peri-ocular injections (including Botox for essential belpharospasm), cautery repair of entropion and ectropion, excision of lid lesions, ophthalmic ultrasound (A- and B-scan), scanning laser analysis of the retinal nerve fiber layer, fundus photography, and post-operative care (cataract, LASIK, trabeculectomy, filtering valves, Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, penetrating keratoplasty, & various retinal procedures), in addition to primary vision care services. He also supervised externs and residents while at West Tennessee Eye.

In the summer of 2005, family considerations necessitated a move home, and Dr. Wroten joined the Bond Eye Clinic & Surgery Center in Hammond, Louisiana, as a partner with Hunter Bond, O.D., where he continues to serve as Chief Operating Officer and provide cutting edge primary eyecare. He and Dr. Bond have committed to keeping abreast of the latest advances in ophthalmic treatment and technology, and employ them in their three practice locations (Amite, Denham Springs, and Hammond, LA).

Dr. Wroten has received numerous scholarships and academic and clinical awards, and has been elected President of the Optometry Association of Louisiana (as well as President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, Education Committee Co-Chair, & Membership & Mentoring Chair), President of the Southeast Louisiana Optometric Society, and Vice-President of the West Tennessee Optometric Society. He has also participated in clinical research, authored clinical case reports, lectured as a continuing education speaker, and presented educational posters and workshops at national optometric conferences. In addition to primary eyecare, Dr. Wroten's special areas of interest lie in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Dr. Sarah Wroten, who is also on staff at The Bond Eye Clinic, and is a proud father to two wonderful children. Dr. Wroten holds appointments as Adjunct Professor on the faculties of the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry and Southern College of Optometry.
