MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 29, 2022 – Elizabeth Beers, a first-year student at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, recently was selected as the recipient of the VSP Global Scholarship valued at $20,000.
Beers, a native of Wildwood, Missouri, will receive an annual installment each of her four years as an SCO optometry student in recognition of her desire to pursue the independent practice of optometry following graduation.
The daughter of Sue and Dave Anthes, also of Wildwood, Missouri, Beers earned her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University. She is also a graduate of Lafayette High School in Baldwin, Missouri.
