Southern College of Optometry recently welcomed three new instructors to our faculty:
• Dr. Amy Perkins is a 2011 SCO graduate and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University. She practiced in Los Angeles at Laser Eye Center of Southern California where she primarily saw refractive surgery patients. She also practiced at Santa Monica Eye Medical Group and Vision To Learn. Since moving back to Tennessee, she worked in private practice and consulted at SCO prior to officially joining the faculty. She serves in the Adult Primary Care Clinic as well as The Focal Point at Crosstown Concourse.
• Dr. Elyse Raborn is a 2020 SCO graduate who completed her primary care residency at SCO in 2021. Prior to entering optometry school, she worked as a paraoptometric and optician, obtaining certification in both, while earning her undergraduate degree. During her SCO residency, she earned her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Christian Brothers University. She was also accepted to ASCO’s Future Faculty program.
• Dr. Lisa Wadolowski Koehler completed her residency in Pediatric Optometry, Vision Therapy, and Vision Rehabilitation following her 2021 graduation from SUNY College of Optometry. A 2016 graduate of Binghamton University, her areas of clinical interest include visual development, infant and toddler eye care, and vision therapy. She serves in the Pediatric, Teen, and Vision Therapy departments at The Eye Center.
