SCO Welcomes 3 New Faculty Members

SCO is excited to welcome two faculty members to the SCO family.  Dr. Catherine (Wood) Hogan received her BA from Davidson College in Davidson, NC. After graduating from SCO in 2017, she completed her residency in primary care and ocular disease at the Memphis Area Veteran’s Medical Center. Since then, Dr. Hogan worked at Distafano Eye Center in Chattanooga, TN where her focus was on treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Hogan is a FAAO, and member of AOA and TAOP. She and her... Read More

SCO Announces Winners of the 2019 Summer Shadowing Contest

The rising 2nd year class of 2022 was invited to enter a contest to shadow optometrists during their summer break. Participants were tasked to shadow at a minimum of two optometrists in at least two different practice modalities. They had to log and verify their hours and complete a written reflection of their experiences. SCO Teams Up for the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend

Registration for this year’s St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend is in full swing. For the first year, Southern College of Optometry has created an official team for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the college. MMDC Launches Groove Commuter Shuttle for Medical District Students & Employees

The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) has collaborated with MATA to provide a commute alternative for SCO students, faculty and staff. MMDC piloted The Groove Shuttle, which is a commuter shuttle between Harbor Town and the Memphis Medical District.
