Faculty, Staff Honored at Annual Appreciation Day

SCO Provides Care to Homeless Population

Southern College of Optometry's Community Outreach program provided eye and vision care to 229 Memphis area homeless people as part of Project Homeless Connect on Valentine's Day, 2013. Sponsored by the Community Alliance for the Homeless, the program provided access to medical care, legal services, veterans' affairs and other important resources at the Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis. SCO Volunteers to Stop Hunger Now

Dozens of SCO students, faculty and staff members recently partnered with the Memphis Rotary Club to support the work of a Stop Hunger Now, an organization that provides prepared foods for residents in impoverished nations. The group worked through an evening to pack nearly 21,000 prepared meals in an assembly-line style.
