Lions Club Inducts 70 New Members

Southern College of Optometry's Lions Club recently held its 2011 induction ceremony. Seventy new members were inducted into the chapter, including students and even a few SCO staff members. The induction ceremony was described as one of the largest ceremonies ever performed by Lions Club District Governor David Butler, who also was guest speaker at the event. SCO Honors MLK Holiday by Giving Back

In the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., SCO students, faculty, staff, and their families honored his legacy by volunteering their MLK holiday time at a local charter school.  SCO’s Student Government Association teamed up with Volunteer Mid-South, a non-profit organization that helps coordinate volunteer projects, to honor the MLK holiday. Kim Joins Faculty

Dr. Jeung Kim has joined the SCO faculty as an instructor. She comes to Memphis from Berkeley, California, where she earned a PhD in Molecular and Biochemical Nutrition, as well as her optometry degree. Dr. Kim will be teaching in the first- and second-year didactic program. In addition, she will be be completing a residency in primary care over the next two years. Read More
