Twenty-nine students from the Class of 2014 received first-year student scholarships totaling $111,000. Dr. Glen Steele, SCO Professor, was recently interviewed by WBUY, the local TV affiliate for TBN. Recording for the network's "Doctor to Doctor" segment, Dr. Steele talked about: Vision related to learning Vision and developmental milestones Convergence insufficiency. A few years ago, Southern College of Optometry's Community Outreach program began working with a new not-for-profit initiative to provide eyecare to children in need. School Advocates for Vision & Education (SAVE) provides eye exams, glasses and treatment to children without vision care in the Memphis area. Dr. Paul Harris recently joined SCO's faculty. He is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry and has been active in vision therapy and behavioral optometry for several decades. Dr. Harris is the founder of the Baltimore Academy for Behavioral Optometry, a board member of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, and one of the key organizers of educational meetings throughout the world, including the recent International Congress of Behavioral Optometry.
