An 11-story tower houses additionally houses a vertical campus, with study spaces located in a variety of spots. Elsewhere in the tower, students can find security offices, a bookstore, mailroom, labs, lockers, faculty offices, and meeting and conference spaces connected by four elevators.

Of special note:

  • The Learning Resource Center offers computers on the third floor where the Department of Information Services coordinates and develops innovative technologies, including classroom video-recording software and electronic exam administration.

  • The fourth floor features our campus dining vendor, A Square Meal, offering a variety of food choices, along with coffee and vending options. The floor also features study rooms and restaurant-style booth seating for extra space or small group gatherings.

  • The library occupies the entire fifth floor and contains visual science and related materials. The library also offers computers, photocopying, and study spaces. Visit the library’s section on our website to learn more.

A walkway connects the tower to The Eye Center, a 50,000 square foot facility considered one of the nation’s leading facilities of its kind. Students assist experienced staff optometrists and physicians in providing care for patients in the areas of primary care optometry, pediatrics and vision therapy, contact lenses, eye disease, geriatrics and low vision, and dispensing.

The college also provides services in several external clinics to serve Memphians and to provide clinical education for students. Externship sites throughout the country also provide advanced clinical education of fourth-year students.

Also on campus is the college’s Activity Center where students participate in a variety of physical fitness activities, team sports, and other athletic competitions. Accessible for spouses and guests, the Activity Center houses an indoor basketball/volleyball court, two racquetball courts, exercise equipment, lockers and showers, and student organization offices.

Ample free parking is available for properly registered vehicles at several different parking lots monitored by SCO’s security team around campus.
