Dr. Wetick is a Memphis native and alumni of Southern College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors in 2008. He completed a one-year residency in Ocular Disease in 2009. He worked as a full time associate optometrist at an optometry/ophthalmology practice between 2009 and 2016. He has managed a wide variety of patients with conditions such as glaucoma, infectious disease, trauma, inflammatory disease, neurological disorders, vascular disorders, and pre/post-eye surgery.
Dr. Wetick became full-time faculty at Southern College of Optometry in 2016. Prior to coming to the college, he had given numerous lectures at continuing education events in the Memphis area. He has a knack and desire for teaching and has served as adjunct faculty for SCO, where he mentored student externs and residents.
Dr. Wetick is a member of both regional and state optometric organizations and serves as a board member for Southern Eye Associates. He is married with two daughters and enjoys time with his family as well as experimenting with different barbecue cooking techniques. He participates in the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Contest and his team placed second place in Hot Wings in 2014.
