After completing his residency, Dr. Jackson joined the SCO faculty and is currently a professor. Dr. Jackson teaches courses in geometrical, visual, and physical optics and contact lens practice. He also performs clinical research and was the principal investigator at SCO for the ACHIEVE Study, which examined the role that glasses and contact lenses play in self-perception in children.
Dr. Jackson’s professional area of interest lies in specialty contact lenses, particularly in contact lens corneal reshaping (orthokeratology). He is the co-author of two textbook chapters on ortho-K, one in Bennett and Weissman's Clinical Contact Lens Practice and one in Bennett and Henry's Clinical Manual of Contact Lenses. He is a contributing editor for the journal Contact Lens Spectrum and has written articles on numerous contact lens topics.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Optometric Association, Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, West Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
