SCO's Residency Information Night brought in a standing room only crowd of students, residency supervisors and several SCO residents on Wednesday, January 7. Dr. Cheryl Ervin, Director of SCO's Residency Program, outlined the benefits of a post-graduation residency. SCO is expanding the number of residency opportunities in its program starting July 1.
Those in attendance included Dr. Jim Williamson, Assistant Professor, pictured, foreground. Dr. Williamson supervises optometric residents at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Memphis, one of the largest programs within the VA.
Dr. Williamson and other residency supervisors were joined by several residents in networking and answering students' questions. SCO's deadline to apply for a residency is January 15, 2010.
On a related note, the college is pleased to note that a new residency blog has been launched. The site is accessible from this blog page or from the SCO front website page.
