Dr. Glen Steele, SCO Professor, was recently honored for lifetime achievement by Prevent Blindness Tennessee. Dr. Steele, seen here with his award, received the 20/20 Lifetime of Service Award in "recognition of exemplary service in improving the quality and availability of eye care."
Tennessee Optometric Association Executive Director Gary Odom presented the award to Dr. Steele as co-chair of the Celebration of Sight 2010 gala held annually in Nashville.
Dr. Steele is a 1969 SCO graduate and Chief of the Pediatric Service at The Eye Center at SCO. He is a past president of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and a past president of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation. He currently chairs the American Optometric Association's InfantSEE Committee and lectures extensively throughout the USA and internationally in the area of infant vision development and care.
