The Eye Center at Southern College of Optometry recently came to the aid of a Theatre Memphis actor who needed a vintage-style pair of frames for the upcoming production of the classic musical, Bye Bye Birdie.
Optician Stuart Turner, who volunteers at Theatre Memphis, brought the opportunity to the attention of Dr. James E. Venable, Vice President for Clinical Programs at The Eye Center. Actor, Greg Krosnes, pictured, needed a specific style of frames for his role, and Dr. Venable agreed to help.
A quick appointment saved the day for the show's costumer and actor, and now the popular musical is running at Theatre Memphis from August 19-September 11. Look for The Eye Center at SCO's ad in the show's program, and visit the theatre's website for more information about showtimes and tickets. Mention "SCO" to receive a $5 discount off your tickets, thanks to the generosity of Theatre Memphis.
