Third year is by far the best year yet! There is minimal class time (which means study time), no labs and more clinic time. We rotate one day a week in primary care, alternate every three weeks in vision therapy, nursing home, central testing and contact lens and then one day every other week in either optical or technology. I enjoy the rotation because it allows you to learn the multiple aspects of the profession. Personally, I enjoy primary care. Just yesterday I found a retinal hole in a young lady and she was referred out for laser surgery. It felt great to be able to take my skills I have learned from lab and apply them in clinic. Can't wait to see more patients!
