Halloween is always a fun time here at SCO. There are lots of fun events planned for the next few days. First off, the school held a Halloween decorating contest. Each suite in The Eye Center has been decorated by various clubs and classes at SCO. To name a few of the themes, there is an Optome"tree" graveyard, a hall of superstitions, and a haunted saloon. The group that has the best decorated suite will receive $500 for their club. Also, students in clinic get to dress up and more pediatric patients were scheduled today to enjoy all the festivities. It should be a really fun day!
Tonight FCO (Fellowship of Christian Optometrists) is having a pumpkin carving contest. There will be a bonfire, hot cider, and lots of pumpkins! Tomorrow on Halloween, Omega Delta (SCO's social fraternity) is having a Halloween party. This is one of the most fun parties that Omega Delta sponsors. Prizes for best individual and group costume are awarded.
Tomorrow I'm also helping with an eye screening at University of Memphis. All third-year students are required to do two community outreach events over the year, so this will count towards one of my requirements. I did my other outreach this summer at a Special Olympics event in Nashville, TN.
Hope you have a happy Halloween!!!
