The count down to Part I of Boards has begun and I am trying to use my study time most efficiently. I feel the most important components in preparing for this exam are to have the pertinent information well organized and then simply putting in the time to review it.
I have found that just reading the information is definitely not enough for me. I need to write it and discuss it to really have it sink in. Over the years my roommate and I have developed a system of working together that is the most efficient and beneficial for us. It has definitely been wonderful having her to study with and I highly recommend having a roommate in Optometry school. It would be great to have my boyfriend here in Memphis with me, but I know I would not be able to balance my time as well. Sometimes I don't think others understand the time commitment required to suceed at this level, I know I didn't.
Prior to coming to Optometry school I planned on having part time job on the weekends to earn extra money, but I soon found out that I would need all of this time to dedicate to school. There are many people in my class who are married and have families so it definitely can be done, but I am in awe of their ability to balance it all.
