Greetings!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Adam Young and I am making my journey to Southern College of Optometry from Atlanta, GA. I have spent most of my life in Atlanta, as I graduated from Stone Mountain High School (C/o 2001), and obtained my bachelors in science from the University of Georgia (C/o 2005). I will be getting married at the end of this month, and we have a 2-year old son together.
So why optometry? My interest in optometry stemmed from my concern about the ocular effects of my father’s diabetes. Over the last four years, I have sought to enhance my understanding of optometry through employment, training, and volunteer work, which in turn has allowed me to identify my professional calling.
So why SCO? SCO is always refining its program to maintain its leadership position as one of the leading optometric institutions. Most importantly, I know that SCO will develop me and equip me to cope with the day-to-day rigors of an optometric practice. Having the opportunity to work with SCO alum put everything into perspective, and I knew from day one that SCO was for me.
So now I’m ready to move the family to Memphis, ready to get the new school year started, and SO ready to get that white coat. Class of 2014 will be remembered for doing great things!! I’ll go ahead and let everyone know that now!! : )
Until next time…… Later~
