Well, I have to apologize up front because I have never blogged before, but I am really excited to share with you how my 3rd year of optometry school is treating me.
First of all I would like to introduce myself. I was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. After graduating high school, I then went on a church mission to the Philippines for 2 years. I went to undergraduate school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am married and have two small children. I have always wanted a career in the health field.
Optometry was a great choice for me because I wanted to help people and to be involved in making a difference in their lives. One of the main reasons I chose SCO was the experience and exposure I would get with patient encounters. Through the Eye Center at SCO, I knew that I would be prepared to enter the optometric field because of the vast patient encounters I would have.
I wanted to excel in my clinical skills as an optometry studen,t and knew that I could, through learning and growing here at SCO. All throughout my 2nd year we have been practicing and fine-tuning our clinical skills in preparation for seeing patients in the Eye Center. I am excited to start my 3rd year here at SCO and I hope that you too will learn from my experiences. Until next time...
