After weeks of searching, I have finally found a place to live in Memphis. The housing fair was a tremendous help to get me started in this long process, but it really came down to making some tough decisions. Roommate or go solo? Downtown or not? Memphis or otherwise? I'm so relieved that the decision making is over and I can look forward to moving down. It feels like that I have been making a lot of major, even life-changing decisions lately, so I'm definitely ready to start school and settle in Memphis to see how those decisions shake out.
Despite the fact that I won't be moving until the middle of August, I still have a few more decisions to make between now and then. Now that I have this apartment, I need to fill it up. I have started looking at Craigslist - I am not planning on taking anything down that won't fit into my car - and now wish that the closest IKEA was less than 7 hrs away. Any great ideas for cheap new/used furniture? Mattress and bed frame?
While there is still work to do beforehand, I'm getting excited about the upcoming move. It has helped a lot that current SCO students and staff are open with suggestions, making moving a few states south a lot easier.
