Hey everyone! So much has been going on. The end of August brings first year Orientation. As an ambassador I get to help out with orientation making sure the first years aren’t too nervous! Showing them around of course, and trying to answer any questions and give advice. It’s always a good time meeting the new first years, and wishing good luck to them!
After being back in school for only a week, it was nice to get Labor Day off! I had the laziest weekend ever.
Clinic has been going great. I have different staff doctors I answer to now when I’m seeing patients, so I’m just getting to learn their different styles. This semester we have a rotation in the Contact Lens Suite. It will be good to go ahead and get real practice with contact lens patients since they are a huge part of an optometry practice. I actually had my own contact lens appointment last week, trying out a different brand! Hey, why not?!
We just got our test schedule for the Semester and it actually is pretty intimidating. Definitely going to be busy studying! Not to mention, I just signed up for a National Board Part I review class that will be in December right after finals.
This week is Optifest, which SCO hosts every year for students. They invite various vendors to showcase frames and ophthalmic equipment and offer really good deals. I’m thinking about a few new pairs of sunglasses! Homecoming is coming up the weekend of October 1st so there will be lots of activities. I’ll keep you updated!
