Congratulations to all third years! We have all been diligently studying for the past few months in preparation for National Boards part 1 which we completed these past 2 days. I have really felt that SCO did a wonderful job at preparing us these past couple of years. Also SCO was very accommodating to us while we were studying this past semester. Our class load wasn't as full as normal. We even have a class that wont' start till after boards. Plus we had 2 or 3 full days of studying (No I'm not including weekends...) during the week to study as well. Here at SCO, I definitely felt that I had ample of time to prepare and get ready for boards.... so bring on part 2!!
Also as third and fourth years, we are involved in serving the community. This Saturday, a few of us third years are going to be doing some vision/glaucoma screenings at a nearby church. These screenings are very beneficial to the people. Last time at one of these screenings, we saw a number of people who were having serious problems with their eyes, but they didn't know it. They were very thankful to us and immediately scheduled an exam (which will be more thorough) at The Eye Center. This is just another way that we can let people be more aware about their ocular (and systemic) health and what they can do about it.
Well that's it for this week, but stayed tuned for more...
Cheers,
-Riley
