Finally, Part I of National Boards are over! And I can enjoy life again. ;- ) Third years have been studying mostly since Christmas, every day for Boards so it is GREAT to have that behind me now. The test was over 2 days and 14 hours of testing! Part one covers basic applied science and, of course, a lot of things to do with the science of the eye and visual system. You can see the NBEO website for more info about the 3 part exam. I will not find out my score for another month or so, but for now I am just happy it’s over!
This weekend SCO hosted its 2nd Annual Housing Fair for the incoming class, Class of 2015! About 45 students with about 60 guests attended. On Friday, tours of our campus were offered along with a tour of a nearby apartment complex, within walking distance of campus. Also attending were leasing reps from several popular apartment complexes, real estate agents, and bank representatives to answer questions, handout freebies, and offer great discounts and advice on housing in the area. The students were also able to sit in and listen to a group of 2nd and 3rdyear students, including me, discuss where we live and why and to answer any questions. I live in Southaven, MS which is about 17 miles from the school and is about a 15 minute drive. I chose to live here because it is still fairly close to school, and mainly because Wal-mart and pretty much any store or restaurant you can think of is within 4-5 miles of my apartment! It was great to meet some of the incoming first years. If you happen to be one and have any questions for me about living in Southaven or just about school, feel free to email me, my address can be found in your school email contact list, just search for my name!
