Wow, have you been watching the weather lately? We’ve had some pretty big scares around Memphis this past week with more storms than I can remember in a long time! Luckily there hasn’t been too much damage in Memphis and the sun has come back out to stay for a while!
Most of my colleagues will be blogging about finals, but for us third years it’s our last round of finals EVER and I don’t think we are quite as worried to say the least! Yesterday I had my picture taken for the senior composite picture (picture of everyone in your class, guys in a tux, girls wearing the off the shoulder black drape, classic) that will live in infamy on the 11thfloor forever. I cannot believe that tomorrow is my last class at SCO! I am happy to let you know that I will continue to blog next year even during externs. I decided to stay local for both of my externs so I will still be here in Memphis for my entire 4th year. Monday through Friday this summer, starting May 16th, I will be at Toyos Clinic under the instruction of SCO alumnus Dr. Whitney Hauser. Dr. Hauser is an Optometrist (OD) and Dr. Toyos is an Ophthalmologist (MD). They work together (along with several other Optometrists at the practice) to provide TOTAL eye care for their patients, from LASIK to cataract surgery and all the pre and post-op visits in between. I am so excited to be working every day with patients before and after various eye surgeries. Check out their website and you can get a glimpse of the services they provide there and what I’ll be experiencing! I will keep you updated on what I am getting to do at their practice. Did I mention that Toyos is the official eye care provider for the NBA Memphis Grizzlies? Go Grizz!!
