Jeff Eger, OD '75, FIOS, was published in the December 2009 issue of Primary Care Optometry News. Dr. Eger's article focuses on an advanced case of keratoconus that showed positive reformation and reversal results by aligning aspheric RGPs to the flatter superior intermediate area of the cornea. Accomodative vision therapy and nutritional balance was also utilized.
Dr. Eger's article notes that the flatter fit shows normal thickness at the cones apex using OCT and orbscan topography. Since 1977, Dr. Eger has managed 403 keratonic cases with 1% corneal transplants and scars.
