J. Bart Campbell, OD, ’87, has recently been appointed as the Vice President of the Corporation. In his new role effective July 1, Dr. Campbell will work alongside the board of directors to maintain SCO’s status as a non-profit organization.
Dr. Campbell will maintain his roles as Professor and Vice-President for Academic Affairs for the College. Also an author on numerous publications and two book chapters dealing with his areas of interest, Dr. Campbell has presented lectures at SCO-sponsored continuing education, at the American Academy of Optometry, and at several other organizations.
He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Chair of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education.
Dr. Campbell has served on numerous committees, including: a National Board of Examiners in Optometry Examination Construction Committee, the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry Residency Affairs Committee, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education Residency Committee, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education Leadership and Professional Development Committee, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education Quality Improvement Committee, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education Planning Committee, the American Academy of Optometry Region 2 Admittance Committee, and the American Academy of Optometry Resident's Day Committee.
