'09 Graduate Publishes Children's Book

Kristopher Hubbard, OD '09, has published a new children's book called Iggie's Telescope . "It's exciting to see the completion of this book," Dr. Hubbard said. The story focuses on Iggie the eyeball as he works diligently to buy his first telescope. "The story will inspire and show children that hard work pays off, while educating them on the importance of protecting their eyes," Dr. Hubbard noted. 2010 Graduates Celebrate Classmate's Wedding

One year to the day after her graduation, Jessica Ellis, OD '10, married attorney Jeremy Durham in Brentwood, Tennessee. Their April 30th wedding was attended by a significant number of Dr. Durham's 2010 classmates as they celebrated a marriage and their one-year class reunion. In Memory of Joseph F. Wiggins, OD '51

Southern College of Optometry is saddened to note the passing of one of the institution's most dedicated and loyal alumni, Joseph F. Wiggins, OD '51. Dr. Wiggins, 84, of Henderson, North Carolina, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The Joseph F. '76 Graduate Appointed to State Board

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour recently appointed Frank Evans, OD '76, to the Mississippi State Board of Optometry. His term will expire in 2013. Dr. Evans is a native of Water Valley, Mississippi. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors and as President of the Mississippi Optometric Association. Dr. Rosemore's Legacy Continues

The late Fredric M. Rosemore, OD '48, was among SCO's most committed alumni in giving his time and generosity to support SCO's programs, including scholarships. Other alumni in his family have continued his tradition of working to benefit others, including his daughter, Martha Rosemore Morrow, OD '74, as well as several grandchildren who also became optometrists.
