Alumni Honored at SECO

At this year's SECO International meeting in Atlanta, several alumni were honored for their accomplishments and service to the profession. G. Robert Crosby, OD '63, received the President's Award from outgoing SECO President Ron Bannister, OD '77. U.S. Senator John Boozman, OD '77, was also named this year's recipient of SECO's OD of the South Award. Congratulations to these distinguished alumni for their contributions to optometry. Read More

Retired Faculty Visit

Five Professors Emeriti recently joined faculty and staff for SCO's annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day Luncheon. The retired faculty visited with former colleagues and even a few former students who now serve on the faculty. In attendance were (L-R): Drs. Richard Hazlett, Lisa Rossmeyer Wade, Don Reynolds, Denson Smith, and Darwin Mormon . Dr. Wade is a 1984 SCO graduate, while Dr. Smith is a 1950 graduate. Read More

Wertheim to Receive Horatio Alger Award

Herbert Wertheim, OD '67, will join media mogul Roger Ailes, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and actor Leonardo DiCaprio as a recipient of this year's Horatio Alger Awards to be presented in Washington D.C.
