Lt. Gov. John Wilder Friend of optometry Former Lt. Gov. John Wilder was widely lauded for his many accomplishments in his long tenure in the tennessee Legislature when he was laid to rest in January. one of his little known accomplishments was the passage of scope of practice legislation in 1993 which impacted how optometry is practiced in tennessee.
