SCO holds an open-house event hosting prospective students and college advisors with an interest in learning more about optometry or Southern College of Optometry's program. The event is not a drop in event, but rather, a structured four-hour experience that allows interaction with current students, faculty and admissions officials. Campus tours and demonstrations will also be part of the program. Registration is required and the deadline is March 12, 2012.

 

Success in Sight

The purpose of the program is to introduce competitive minority high school students to the profession of optometry through a two-day on-campus program.   This program will provide interaction with optometrists, optometry students and the faculty of SCO.   Opportunities for hands on experience will be available as well.  There is no cost to participate in this program, however, application is required. Application deadline is March 15, 2012.

 

3rd Annual Alumni-Child Admissions Forum

This annual event is an opportunity for SCO alumni with children interested in joining the optometry profession to return to the campus with their kids and learn more about the admissions standards of today. The event includes sessions about the admissions process, as well as campus tours and clinic demonstrations. This all-day event is open to any children of SCO alumni who have completed a minimum of their junior year in high school. Registration is required and must be submitted by July 10, 2012.
