Loren W. Bennett, O.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Larry Bennett (loren.bennett@va.gov) is the Chief of Optometry and the Residency Program Director at the James H. Quillen VAMC. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1984, and from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1988. After completing a residency with the Chillicothe/Columbus Ohio VAMC, he taught for a year as a clinic instructor at Ohio State before accepting a job at the James H. Quillen VAMC in 1990. He became Chief of Optometry in 1994, and later completed a Master of Public Health from East Tennessee State University in 2000. Dr. Bennett has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 1994.

Harold R. Bohlman, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Hal Bohlman (hal.bohlman@va.gov) received his Bachelor of Science from Washington and Lee University in Virginia in 1982, and graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1986. After graduation, he served on active duty with the Army until 1993, and continues to serve in the Army Reserve since that time. He joined a private practice in Iowa in 1994, prior to coming to the James H. Quillen VAMC as a staff optometrist in 1995. Dr. Bohlman has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 1997, and received his Diplomate status in Primary Care with the American Academy of Optometry in 2002.

Nanette Coelho, O.D.

Dr. Nanette Coelho (nanette.coelho@va.gov) received her Bachelor of Science from Florida International University in 1985, and graduated from NOVA Southeastern College of Optometry in 1997. She completed her residency at Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in 1998, and joined the James H. Quillen VAMC staff as a part time optometrist in 2001. Dr. Coelho became a full time staff member at this facility in 2004.

John Gingrich, O.D.

Dr. John Gingrich (john.gingrich@va.gov) graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in 1986, and from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1990. He worked in a private ophthalmology co-management practice in Billings, Montana until 2001, when he became the Clinical Director for TLC-The Laser Center in Billings. He later transferred to the TLC office in Johnson City, TN where he served as Regional Clinical Director until 2006. He joined the full time staff at the James H. Quillen VAMC in 2006.

David Holliman, M.S., O.D.

Dr. David Holliman (david.holliman@va.gov) is a 1991 graduate of LSU (B.S.), and a 1998 graduate of the University of Memphis (M.S. in genetics). He received his optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 2003, and has been in private practice with his wife (an SCO graduate) since then. He joined the staff of this facility as a part time contract optometrist in 2003.
