On Call Policy

• The resident will begin pulling call for West Tennessee Eye during the second month of the residency
• The on call schedule is one week in length, starting on Monday night at 5:30pm and lasts until 8:30am the following Monday.
• The resident will pull call approximately on week for every five weeks duration period throughout the year and is expected to pull call on one major holiday
• The resident will be allowed to modify his/her on-call schedule through changing on-call assignments with other West Tennessee Eye physicians.
• The resident will always have an experienced, residency trained optometrist on back up call for assistance.
• The resident will always have a fellowship trained ophthalmologist on back up call for assistance
