M. Cathleen Schanzer, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Medical Director
Dr. Schanzer has been the anchor surgeon and Medical Director of this center since it began in 1990. She has performed thousands of refractive, cataract, and glaucoma surgeries. She received her degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and performed her residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, also in Houston.

W. David Irvine, M.D.
Associate Ophthalmologist
Dr. Irvine received his Bachelor of Science and medical degree from University of Tennessee. After completing his residency in ophthalmology and his fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, Dr. Irvine was Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor at their clinic.

Karmen Holdinghausen, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Consultative Optometric Physician
Dr. Holdinghausen received her Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry. Her residency in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, included training in the ophthalmologic specialties of retinal, glaucoma, cornea, and neuro-ophthalmology.
