Paul Mormon Named Young OD of the Year

 

            MEMPHIS, Tennessee (November 5, 2007) – Southern College of Optometry (SCO) faculty member Paul Mormon, OD, has been named Young Optometrist of the Year by the Tennessee Optometric Association (TOA).

            First appointed to the SCO faculty in 2004, Dr. Mormon was also elected Secretary/Treasurer of the TOA.

            Dr. Mormon is a 2001 graduate of SCO. In addition to serving on the SCO faculty, Dr. Mormon also practices with his father, Dr. Bud Mormon, at Eyecare East, PLLC at 9031 Valleycrest Lane in Germantown.

            The senior Dr. Mormon also taught at SCO for 34 years before retiring with the title of Professor Emeritus.

            “I couldn’t have picked a better partner for my optometric practice,” the senior Dr. Mormon said of his son’s achievement. “I’m very proud of all that he’s accomplished.”

Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2007, Southern College of Optometry was established in Memphis, Tennessee in 1932. SCO is an independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education with a mission to educate men and women in the art and science of optometry.
