Southern College of Optometry Student Organization to Host

Sixth Annual Eye 5k Run

 

            Memphis, Tennessee (September 14, 2007) – Runners can race for a good cause on Saturday, September 22nd when Southern College of Optometry students host the Sixth Annual Eye 5k race at 5:30 p.m. in midtown Memphis.

            The $20 registration fee will support Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) and the organization’s mission trips to provide critically needed eye care to impoverished residents of Latin and Central America.

            Run for fun or prizes in a number of categories across all age groups, from kids to over 60. The course will travel through the historic Central Gardens Historic District. Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2007, Southern College of Optometry was established in Memphis, Tennessee in 1932. SCO is an independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education with a mission to educate men and women in the art and science of optometry.
