Completing the FAFSA
You have several options in how to complete your FAFSA:
-
You may complete this form via the web at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. You must have a
PIN or mail in a signature page. You may do this in the SCO Financial Aid
office. You will have the answer in 2-3 weeks.
-
You may return your completed FAFSA to the SCO
Financial Aid office. We will then submit your application electronically for
you. We will receive the answer in 5-7 days.
-
You may mail the application in the envelope provided.
This is the least desirable choice, as it takes about 4–6 weeks to receive
your student aid report (SAR).
However you choose to submit your FAFSA, please
designate SCO as the school to receive your information. Our Title IV School
Code is 003517.
Don’t forget to include parental information, if you
are interested in our HPSL campus-based loan. If you or your parents have not
filed your tax return, you may use estimated figures.
It is important to complete your FAFSA by February 20.
If you have specific questions about filling out the FAFSA, you may call (800)
4FED-AID, or SCO’s Financial Aid Office at (800) 238-0180, option #3.
Other supporting documents will also be required of you, depending on your
particular circumstances. Financial Aid Transcripts may be required from
previous schools attended by entering students, even if no aid was received.
Financial Aid Transcripts may also be required of current students who attend
another school after entering SCO (to complete B.S. Degree requirements, for
example).
Once you file the SCO application, we will send you
periodic status reports to keep you informed of any additional documents
required. If anything seems to be amiss, contact the financial aid office.
