Courses to complete your baccalaureate degree.

Notes:

           * These courses are required pre-requisite courses for SCO.
+ These courses are not required but are strongly recommended.
  (a)   These courses may be needed/helpful before enrolling in Calculus I.
  (b)   Completing courses in any of the following areas may satisfy the social science requirement: Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, History, Economics, Anthropology, Geography, Religion or Philosophy.
  (c)   Bacteriology with lab is the only course that can be used as a substitute for Microbiology.
  (d)   Molecular Biology is the only course that can be used as a substitute for Biochemistry.

This is a recommended course sequence that will allow students to complete the prerequisite courses required by SCO. Because each student and each school is different, we strongly suggest students work closely with an advisor at his/her school in completing the necessary courses required by SCO, as well as the courses required by the college or university attended. If you have any questions about this suggested sequence of pre-optometry classes, please contact the SCO Records and Admissions Office.
